302 Stainless Steel has slightly higher carbon than 304. 302 stainless steel is an austenitic stainless and has better corrosion resistance than 301. This is due to 302 having a higher nickel content. 302 can be produced from soft annealed to full hard.

302 Stainless Steel balls provides extreme toughness and corrosion resistance from oxidizing solutions and many organic compounds in an unhardened state. In its annealed condition it withstands attacks by foodstuffs,dyes, sterilizing solutions and nitric acid. Not recommended for sulfuric or halogen applications. 302 is slightly magnetic.
AISI Type 302 Stainless Steel (UNS S30200) Type 302 stainless steel is basically a higher carbon version of type 304, a variant of 18-8 stainless steel. Its carbon content is ≤0.15%, and the minimum chromium content is only 1% less than 304.
