    30CrMoV9 is a steel which in general is intended for the fabrication of quenched and tempered parts, which are generally machined and subsequently nitrided. The alloy 30CrMoV9 is usually produced by EAF /VD /LF followed by electroslag refining (ESR) if necessary for special purpose. Bars and, where applicable, forgings are subjected to ultrasonic examination based on the different level according to the buyers’ requirements. Bars are usually supplied bright in the annealed condition, or bright annealing specially.

    HEAT TREATMENT OF 30CRMOV9:

    1. Soft Annealing: Heat to 680-720oC, cool slowly. This will produce a maximum Brinell hardness of 248.
    2. Nitriding:
    3. Gas/plasma nitriding temperature (gas, salt bath): 570-580oC
    4. Gas/plasma nitriding temperature (powder, plasma): 580oC
    5. Surface hardness after nitriding: 800 HV
    6. Hardening:Harden from a temperature of 850-880oC followed by oil quenching.

    TEMPERING OF 30CRMOV9:

    • Tempering temperature: 570-680oC.

    FORGING OF 30CRMOV9:

    • Hot forming temperature: 1050-850oC.

    AVAILABLE SHAPES :

    • Black bar /Flat bar / Square bar /Pipe, /Steel strip, /sheet
    • Bright – peeled + polishing, centerless grinding
    • Forged – ring, tube, pipe casing, discs, shaft
